The Adamantine Forge is one of the most rewarding secret locations in Baldur's Gate 3, hidden deep within Grymforge in the Underdark. Operating this ancient mechanism allows players to craft exceptionally strong gear that grants immunity to critical hits and inflicts debuffs on enemies. Keeping up with daily gaming news can keep RPG fans updated on hidden locations and intricate questlines across popular titles.
Gathering the Required Materials and Moulds
Before operating the forge, players must collect two vital components: Mithral Ore and a specific item mould. Mithral Ore veins are located in the surrounding areas of Grymforge, marked by glowing blue rocks that require bludgeoning damage to break open. Moulds for weapons, splint armor, or scale mail can be found scattered across tables and platforms throughout the ruins.
Setting Up the Forge Mechanism
To begin crafting, navigate to the center of the massive forge platform situated over the lava lake. Insert your chosen mould into the Mould Chamber and place a piece of Mithral Ore into the Crucible. Once both items are secured, pull the Forge Lever located on the platform's edge to lower the entire structure into the lower level.
Defeating Grym the Forge Guardian
Lowering the forge activates the Lava Valve, which releases molten lava across the arena floor and awakens Grym, the construct guardian. Grym is immune to standard damage unless superheated by walking through the flowing lava. Players can bait the boss onto the central anvil and release the hammer lever to inflict massive bludgeoning damage, repeating the process until the guardian is defeated.
Claiming Your Crafted Adamantine Gear
With Grym defeated, turn the Lava Valve once more if necessary to keep the metal workable and activate the forge lever again to strike the Crucible. The central chamber will open, allowing you to collect your freshly forged Adamantine equipment. You can eject the used mould via the adjacent button to craft a second item if you have extra Mithral Ore.
